Can You Get Cosmetic Procedures While Pregnant?

Cosmetic procedures and pregnancy are a common topic of discussion at Parson Skin Center. Women who are expecting are eager to make sure their baby is safe, and they want to know if they can receive injectables such as Botox or dermal fillers during pregnancy. The answer is that these treatments are not approved by the FDA for pregnant or breastfeeding women. However, if you had Botox or dermal fillers applied early in your first trimester, before you knew you were pregnant, or due to lack of FDA approval, there is no need to worry.

At Parson Skin Center, we strongly recommend that you wait until after you have given birth to your baby before receiving any cosmetic or dermatological treatments. Even though these procedures are generally safe for the body and may not cause harm to the fetus, it is best to err on the side of caution. Rest assured that if you had any injectables or dermal fillers applied before you knew you were pregnant, they are very unlikely to affect you or your baby in any way.
